Zenitel ‘Networks’ at TETRA World Congress

Zenitel, international market leader in integrated communication solutions for the professional market, reinforces its commitment to TETRA solutions and hereby announces its repeat participation and contribution to the TETRA World Congress (TWC).
The TWC is the world's largest TETRA conference and exhibition, attracting users, manufacturers, network operators, application developers and system integrators from across the globe.
Zenitel will be participating under the banner of the Zenitel Group, internationally combining the business into one company serving all needs – wherever the customer may be based. The Zenitel stand – booth L4, is positioned opposite the popular delegate rest area.
Zenitel's business falls at the crossroads between security and communication, often referred to as 'mission-critical' environments. Zenitel has made it a mission to help customers make that one vital call, and is dedicated to understanding its customers' business processes and requirements, meeting them with value added solutions.
Zenitel is looking forward to introducing a variety of applications and solutions for mission-critical environments such as law enforcement, fire brigades, defense, airports, industry, public transport, and road/road tunnel authorities – every one an environment in which Zenitel has realized TETRA implementations internationally. Key competencies and offerings, relevant to these markets, from the Zenitel Group as a whole, will be represented at the show. From these can be mentioned the following:
Zenitel will showcase an integrated solution for remote management and monitoring of confined area communication systems and related peripheral equipment (SCADA type applications). This new approach will provide unique flexibility and scalability, with improved means of operation and service, including easier commissioning, maintenance, reduced OPEX and thereby a lower total cost of ownership. Moreover, this new approach will facilitate the introduction of operator initiated break-in audio using VoIP techniques.
Secondly, a unique establishment of an end-to-end mission-critical communications environment, integrating the worlds of TETRA and Intercom/PABX and applying Zenitel's latest CCoIP (Critical Communication over IP) principles. Building upon the company's historical expertise within radio based and intercom solutions, Zenitel will demonstrate a concept facilitating full interconnection between a variety of intercom stations (IP, vandal proof wall mounted, desktop dual display etc.), TETRA subscribers and more.
Thirdly, Zenitel will introduce the challenges and competencies involved when establishing TETRA networks, both as PAMR operator driven solutions (nationwide or smaller), as well as PMR private networks - across the sectors of industry, airport, defense and public safety. Dating back ten years, since the implementation of the first commercial TETRA network at the Gardermoen Airport in Oslo, Norway, to the latest Belgian launch of the operator driven MCCN TETRA network, Zenitel has performed a series of network implementations, all adding to the establishment of profound know-how and expertise that Zenitel is pleased to share with the TWC audience.
Zenitel is proud that again this year, the congress organizers, IIR in association with the TETRA Association, have acknowledged Zenitel's TETRA knowledge and ability and have invited the company as a guest speaker onto their official conference program. Zenitel will run a conference on 'A Managed TETRA Network in the Dutch Caribbean'. Jan van der Meij, senior consultant, Zenitel NV and Mario Schouten, country manager, Zenitel Caribbean, will present the business model, the challenges, customer specific applications and lots more besides, on Tuesday 12th June.
