Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics (SPPAL) will be exhibiting its complete portfolio at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2018, showcasing logistics and digital solutions.

The presentation will feature state-of-the-art baggage handling systems and intelligent digital solutions and a comprehensive service offering.

The Siemens team will be welcoming trade visitors from March 20-22, 2018 at the International Fairs and Congress Center, Hall A, Stand 1105 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The highlight of this year’s Expo will be the innovative SmartTray, which is used to inspect tray systems and provides the ideal basis for predictive and preventive maintenance.

The SmartTray is a component of a comprehensive maintenance concept that sees sensors and cloud technology combined for the first time. The concept employs SPPAL’s advanced Service 4.0 solutions, including vibration analysis, noise pattern recognition, and motor current analysis, for example.

Siemens visualises the analysis results using a proprietary dashboard solution that has already been deployed successfully.

The tailor-made concept increases the baggage handling system’s availability and performance and extends its lifecycle, as well as enabling improved planning of system maintenance activities. The cost efficiency of processes can also be increased significantly.

Further highlights at the Siemens stand include:

  • Airport and cargo software: Innovative digital solutions that use the modular platforms AX4 and LogX4 for greater transparency and efficiency in increasingly complex business processes.
  • Comprehensive baggage handling solutions: In addition to the VarioTray system, Siemens meets all customer requirements, from check-in and belt conveyor systems to efficient sorting and baggage reclaim facilities.

The SPPAL team is looking forward to meeting with customers and partners at the Passenger Terminal Expo to share expertise and discuss the aviation industry’s needs.
