DHL Rewards SACO with new projects
As a result of the positive experiences during the execution of projects such as DHL hubs in Leipzig, Amsterdam and Brussels, the partnership between DHL and SACO has strengthened. As a result, SACO has been entrusted with the following projects:
- Sevilla (SVQ) San Pablo Airport, Spain
- Gdansk (GDN) Lech Wałęsa Airport, Poland
- Basel (BSL) EuroAirport Switzerland
- Marseille (MRS) Aéroport Marseille Provence, France
- Cologne Hub (CGN) Cologne-Bonn Airport, Germany
- Madrid Hub (MAD) Barajas Adolfo Suàrez Airport, Spain
- Milan Hub (MXP) Milan Malpensa Airport, Italy
- Venice (VCE) Marco Polo Airport, Italy
Swissport cargo opens in Chicago (ORD)
Cargo Services USA opened a brand new warehouse at Chicago O’Hare Airport in July 2017, featuring an automated material handling system. The new 12,900m² facility is at the North Cargo Area of Chicago O’Hare Airport and will set new benchmarks with the first automated ULD handling system in the region. The system supplied by SACO can accommodate more than 120 10ft ULDs at a time. All ULDs can be handled to the highest industry standards without touching the floor.
SACO’s scope of supply:
- 1,500m² castor decks
- 33 motor-powered roller decks
- Six right angle decks
- Three truck docks (20ft)
- Two build-up / breakdown work stations
- PLC Controls
Swissport’s new facility has 36 truck docks, and features adjacent aircraft parking with in-ground fuelling and power units to shorten aircraft turnaround times.
TNT Marly-la-Ville France
SACO has successfully supplied and commissioned the ULD handling system for TNT in Marly-la-Ville. TNT built this logistics centre in Marly to benefit from its strategic location near Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) and the FedEx hub at the airport. The new state-of-the-art logistic centre will deliver and receive ULD’s to/from trucks and will be able to treat 18,000 parcels an hour.
SACO’s scope of supply:
- 400m² castor decks
- Eight roller decks for offload/reload with integrated weighing systems
- Six truck docks (10ft)
- Six speed doors and fencing
- PLC controls
WFS Milan, Malpensa Airport (MXP)
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) awarded SACO the contract to equip its new 5,000m² cargo terminal at Milan Malpensa Airport, with a ULD Handling System. The opening of the terminal is planned for November 2017.
