It's your choice: kiosk check-in, web check in or mobile phone check-in. In addition to the CUSS-based solutions, Materna also offers CUPPS-services for staffed counters at airports.

Quick, easy and secure self bag drop solutions

The company's quick and easy-to-use bag drop solutions deliver intelligent and state-of-the-art baggage handling. Materna's self bag drop installations completely fulfil modern security standards and passenger service requirements.

Customers choose between different models, depending on their existing infrastructure and special needs. As a full-service provider, we also provide CUSS and CUTE support. Our self-bag-drop solutions comply with CUSS and IATA RP 1701standards and support multiple airline departure control systems (DCS).

Retrofit kiosk for self bag drop

Materna extended its range of products with a new self-service kiosk for automated baggage drop at airports. The new retrofit kiosk is called Merkur.

Although Merkur is designed for unmanned baggage handling, the check-in desks where it is installed can still be used for normal staffed check-in services. Merkur can be deployed flexibly and fits in conveniently with existing conveyor systems at airports.

The system provides for the highest levels of security, is easy to operate, and can be integrated in the infrastructure of baggage handling halls. Materna developed the kiosk together with their partner company eKiosk, a supplier of complete solutions in the field of info-terminals and kiosk systems. In addition to printers, Merkur also includes a scanning module which recognises and checks any tags on the baggage.

Cabin luggage check

New to Materna's baggage handling portfolio is the cabin luggage check for the automatic inspection of hand baggage. The system identifies bags and verifies their compliance with the specific airline rules for cabin luggage. This ensures that only bags which are of correct size and weight will be accepted as hand luggage, and avoids time delays while boarding the aircraft. As with all Materna solutions, the cabin luggage check is a common use application.

Secure access solutions for safety

Our secure access software provides safe access to various kinds of secure areas in airport environments, running in attended or unattended modes. When passengers pass from landside to airside, it checks their boarding passes and verifies the information by comparing it with the airport's database. It provides additional information, statistics, peak times, the passenger's residence, the walking time of passengers to their gate, and any gate changes.

Self boarding solution for efficiency and security

Optimise your boarding process significantly with our self boarding gate solution. After successfully reading the passenger's boarding pass, the system automatically checks the validity of the passenger data and provides the airline with all the information it needs.

The self boarding application can be integrated easily into your existing infrastructure and, if required, can be equipped with biometric data identification functions, such as face recognition.
