Aero Port Services Selects Aviation Software to Power Baggage Handling Systems

15 July 2009

New York – Aero Port Services (APS) has proudly announced the selection of Aviation Software, Inc. (ASI) as its interline baggage solution provider.

ASI will help APS to improve current interline partnership opportunities through revolutionary GPS and Wi-Fi integration for a true track and trace solution. Alert messaging, multi-directional communication, and immediate data availability are all part of what makes APS' new system so successful.

APS will now be managing all interline baggage handling for Los Angeles International Airport. The project includes 43 airlines that will rely upon APS for successful tracking and transport of their customer luggage, totaling over six million bags annually. ASI's premier solution provides real-time internet-based GPS information, airline movement messages and itinerary and baggage messages for intelligent decision support. ASI's comprehensive capabilities provide APS with the tools and support needed by airline customers traveling to and from LAX.

A strong combination of GPS monitoring, daily patrol by internal staff, and service level agreements work in tandem to optimize customers' experience and the overall baggage transport process.

APS will begin implementing this solution in early September 2009. They expect to go 'live' by October 2009.
