ALSTEF obtained its first contract at the Bamako-Senou International Airport (Mali) in 2009-2010, providing, for the renovation of the existing terminal, all baggage conveying equipment required (including 11 check-in desks and all conveyors for baggage screening at departures, as well as a new arrivals carousel).

ALSTEF has now been selected by Chinese company SINOHYDRO to supply for the new airport terminal the complete baggage conveyor and screening systems at both departure and arrival levels. It is the second contract with a Chinese company for ALSTEF.

ALSTEF will design, supply, and install at departure level a system, including 16 check-in desks for standard bags, a PEDS line with automatic separation of suspicious bags and sorting on a carousel. Oversize bags will be screened and transported via an independent line. The system will also include three arrivals carousels. ALSTEF will supply all of the EDS machines (for cabin and hold baggage), the metal detection frames
and all other security equipment.

This system will be operational in the summer of 2012, for the opening of the new terminal and it will be one of the most secure systems in sub-Saharan Africa.

After Bamako, ALSTEF has been awarded two other contracts in Africa:

One contract signed with RESA is for a check-in system part of the renovation of Bulawayo Airport in Zimbabwe. The other signed with EVN Company is for two baggage delivery installations for Bujumbura Airport in Burundi.

ALSTEF will be present at the ACI World and Africa conference & exhibition held from 31 October to 2 November 2011 in Marrakech (Morroco).
