TrackJet Handover to Geneva Airport

On 4 November 2008, Weigel Hochdrucktechnik handed over a delivered TrackJet to Geneva International Airport in a small ceremony. The growing Geneva Airport provided a Unimog U 400 for the fitting of the state-of-the-art TrackJet technology. The TrackJet will be used for essential maintenance works and for improvement of runway security.

Within the framework of rubber removal on runways, the TrackJet technology makes sure that the runway live time is prolonged by 50%, because the rubber residues of landing airplanes are removed without any damage to the surface texture. This statement also holds true for removal of paint markings from the movement area of the airport.

Moreover, the air ground lightings (AGLs) are cleaned without any damage to prisms or sealings during the rubber removal process, and aprons are cleaned without damaging the surface.

Geneva International is also considering using this modern TrackJet technology outside the airport.
