Greavesy jet blasting service uses Ultra High-Pressure (UHP) water jets to clean runways and aprons, efficiently removing rubber and other contaminates. It also removes thermoplastic markings, without any detriment to the underlying surface, faster than burning and without releasing any particles into the atmosphere. UHP water bombards the runway surface with water at pressures up to 40,000psi and speeds of Mach 1.5. A vacuum recovery system removes excess water and contaminates, leaving the surface as good as new. Only water is used. EFFICIENT RUBBER REMOVALUHP water jetting is significantly faster than traditional abrasive methods for rubber removal, and faster than burning for thermoplastic removal, reducing disruption to runways. It is the method of choice for rubber removal for some of the busiest airports in the world, including Heathrow and many of the largest BAA-controlled airports. IDEAL FOR CLEANING ASPHALT AND CONCRETE RUNWAYSStudies have shown UHP jetting is also safe for all surfaces including asphalt, smooth and grooved concrete etc. It is equally successful on textured and untextured surfaces for restoring the surface to new. CLEANING SPILLS AND CONTAMINATESBecause UHP water jetting completely renews a surface it is the perfect tool for cleaning all kinds of spills and contaminates such as oil patches and other grime build up. REMOVING RUNWAY AND APRON MARKINGSUHP water jetting is the ideal solution for rethinking road layout as it removes thermoplastic without damaging the surface. The system removes painted lines quickly and is environmentally sound, as it does not release any particles into the atmosphere. All contaminates are washed away and recovered by a vacuum, leaving the surface cleaner than it was before. HIGH PRESSURE EQUIPMENTGreavesy's UHP equipment is typically a tanker unit and a washer unit. The tanker carries a water supply, recovery tank and pressurising system. The washer or tractor unit has a mounted washer head that can be as large as 48in for cleaning runways and as small as 4in for removing road markings. We supply the men and the equipment for this comprehensive service to fit your needs and your timeframe. INDUSTRIAL CLEANING AND RETEXTURISINGThis versatile, high-pressure equipment is also in use on UK highways to remove road markings and retexture road surfaces, in the shipping industry to remove treatments from the side and decks of ships and in the construction industry to remove hardened concrete from machinery. With close ties to the manufacturer and experience in these other industries, Greaves is in a position to consult with you to help solve a variety of industrial cleaning issues.
