Rutland Electric Fencing’s Induced Pulse® perimeter fencing is a cost-effective physical & psychological barrier, guarding against intruders and providing defence for airport car parking companies. The Induced Pulse® security fence is usually mounted on the inside of the host fence and is often a minimum height of 3m thus deterring any intruder or terrorist. The success of the Rutland Induced Pulse® system is due in part to the psychological threat of receiving an electric shock of unknown severity. CONSTRUCTION OF THE SECURITY FENCINGTypically horizontal 2.5mm diameter high tensile BS 443 steel wires are supported by insulators mounted on a pre-formed patented tee section posts. Each wire is separated in the vertical by 100mm and tensioned using purpose made devises. The wires are connected in a series/parallel circuit to form a closed loop live/earth system. The fence can be constructed to give multiple zones thus enabling individual sections to be monitored. Short-circuiting or cutting the fence will give an alarm. The fence is controlled by one of a range of controllers manufactured by Rutland Electric Fencing at the Oakham factory. All of the controllers are all manufactured to comply with current UK, EU and IEC international standards. CCTVThe fence controllers have voltage free contacts, which can be used to control a number of devices such as C.C.T.V. ACCESS CONTROLThe fence controllers have the ability to be used in conjunction with most forms of access control, such as swipe cards, optical, key, radio and magnetic. TRADITIONAL SECURITY SYSTEMSReported crime levels continue to increase resulting in a significant demand for more stringent measures to safeguard premises and property from intruders. Traditional entry barriers such as barbed or razor wire are much in evidence, although sophisticated alarm systems and security surveillance are only effective in notifying of an intruders entry, identifying their means of escape and visually identifying them. These systems are of a limited use for deterring intruders because they only activate once a perimeter breach has occurred. Cameras often only prove useful after the event. PERIMETER DEFENCE EUROPE-WIDEThe Rutland Induced Pulse® security fencing system has now been accepted as the main line of perimeter defence for many companies in the UK and Europe, solving perimeter security problems from builders merchants to major tobacco manufacturing and distribution companies, motor vehicle dealers and airport car parking companies. Many of these will testify how the system has paid for itself in a very short time by reducing the need for expensive manned guarding and greatly reducing theft from sites or in the majority of cases stopping it completely. Prior to installing the Rutland Induced Pulse® Security System, the BCP car park operated by FLY AWAY parking near Birmingham International Airport had a major problem with security of clients cars, control of car keys and vandalism. Since the installation was fitted these problems have been resolved and the company awarded a "Secure Parking Award" by West Midlands Police. As a result of this the company has seen a 30% increase in business at the Birmingham facility. To cope with the increase in demand for secure parking the company has constructed a new purpose built site close to the airport. The site, capable of storing up to 5,000 cars, will be protected by a Rutland Induced Pulse® System.
