Optellios, announced today that it has received Lenel factory certification for the integration of its FiberPatrol intrusion detection systems with the OnGuard security platform by Lenel. Optellios is the first member of the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program to receive such certification for a perimeter sensor system.
FiberPatrol intrusion detection systems use an innovative distributed sensing technology to define hundreds of reconfigurable detection zones along a single fiberoptic sensor cable. One such system can monitor the entire perimeter of a facility, with solutions available for fence, wall, in-ground and mixed applications. All FiberPatrol systems share a common alarm protocol for interfacing with third-party products.
A communication protocol translator, developed by Optellios, now allows one or multiple FiberPatrol systems to report directly to OnGuard. By communicating timely and accurate intrusion alarm information, FiberPatrol enables OnGuard to alert security personnel and trigger camera action or other automated response in case of an attempted perimeter breach at any of the monitored sites.
"Optellios has completed required factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to OnGuard. We look forward to their continued involvement in the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program," said Joshua E. Phillips, Director of Strategic Alliances for Lenel.
"We are excited to be able to serve the Lenel customer community. With the addition of FiberPatrol, OnGuard users will be able to make their critical facility more secure by expanding the protection from the building to the perimeter," said Dr. Jeff Zhuang, who directed the project at Optellios.
"Lenel certification is a credit to the skill and agility of our software engineers, as well as a reflection of the forward thinking and flexibility embodied by the FiberPatrol's third-party interface," added Jay Patel, Optellios CEO.
