Together with its market leading integration partners, Datastrip provides total solutions in card and document-based applications. Datastrip recently received the 2006 Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation of the Year Award in the smart cards market for its DSVII handheld identity verification terminals, a family of mobile smart card / biometric readers. ADVANCED AND INSTANT IDENTITY VERIFICATIONThe DSVII range readers are designed to offer advanced, instant verification by combining contact and contactless smart card readers, a 500dpi fingerprint sensor for instant biometric matching, and a high-resolution digital touch-screen display. All these components are contained in a lightweight, compact device with optional wireless communication capability, including Bluetooth®, 802.11b and GSM/GPRS. READING 2-D BARCODES FOR PASSPORT AUTHENTICATIONThe DSVII-PA is a handheld device designed to provide identity verification and passport authentication by reading 2D barcodes, OCR-B, and the contact and contactless chips found on identification documents such as passports, visas, travel cards, ID
cards, drivers' licenses, national ID cards, credit cards and health cards. The DSVII-PA is capable of supporting evolving identification document standards. The DSVII-PA features a 600dpi scanner to accommodate full page imaging of a passport. The DSVII–PA also offers a contact / contactless smart card reader, a 500dpi fingerprint sensor for instant biometric verification, and a large colour digital touchscreen display readable in direct sunlight or low-light conditions - all in a small handheld Windows® CE.NET unit weighing approximately two pounds. SUPPORTING EVOLVING IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTSThe DSVII-SW is a handheld device designed to provide identity verification by reading 2D bar codes, OCR-B and contact and contactless chips found on identification documents. Designed to support evolving identification document standards, the DSVII-SW reads nearly every technology used with ID cards, drivers' licences, passports, national ID cards, credit cards, health cards and many more ID initiatives. BASIC ACCESS CONTROLSome of the DSVII family of readers have the addition of a 600dpi swipe-style card scanner for the reading of a full-page passport, 2D barcodes and OCR-B which, in the case of e-passports, can be used as Basic Access Control (BAC) to activate the embedded smart chip. The DSVII range supports the majority of algorithms from major fingerprint vendors including Cogent, NEC, Motorola’s Printrak, Identix and Bioscrypt, offering both 1:1 and 1:N matching. Datastrip's range is ideally suited for all major ID card and document based applications including machine readable travel documents, e-passports, driver’s licences, workers ID, national ID, security / access control and many more identity verification initiatives.
