Boon Edam can rightly say it is 'the first name in entrance technology'. Thousands of people pass through our doors all over the world. There is no other major international group with Boon Edam's longstanding experience in the field of automatic and manual revolving doors and security doors. Starting back in 1873, as a carpentry specialist, Boon Edam became, in the years that followed, the international market leader. We have used our years of experience to develop a wide range of door products that can be customised to almost every building entrance requirement. Revolving doorsBoon Edam supplies the largest portfolio of revolving doors available, including manual, automatic, high capacity, security doors and turnstiles. Boon Edam designs can be adapted to meet almost any criteria. Our choice of finishes range from powder coating through a variety of metal finishes to the super mirror polish of stainless steel. High capacity revolving doorsOur range of high capacity revolving doors have large segment sizes which enable a large flow of passengers to pass through without discomfort. Specific airport advantages are:
Security doorsToday's world asks for accessibility and security at the same time. It seems impossible to combine these apparent contradictions, but Boon Edam does! Accessibility and security meet each other in Boon Edam's wide range of ingenious security products. Each situation asks for a different approach. No matter the project. No matter the requirements. No matter the scale. Boon Edam supplies products that meet the level of security you're looking for. Boon Edam's product range is targeted at two different levels of security. Firstly: A high security revolving door or security booth can be installed to directly control the passage of entrants. Secondly: It's also possible that you want to monitor the flow of visitors within a building. In that case a normal revolving or sliding door can allow people general access. An extensive and modern range of security barriers can be installed within the buildings area. In this way you can create different security levels. Access control systems interfacingBoon Edam's broad range of products is capable of interfacing with practically all existing access control systems. Security system providers and Boon Edam often cooperate to ensure that specific security requirements are met. Airport - automated border passageOn 23 October 2001, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol became the world's first airport to replace manual passport control with Automated Border Passage (ABP). Boon Edam was part of a team advising, co-developing, producing and installing this unique system. The system was developed in answer to the following problem definition; organise fast and comfortable border passage with a minimum involvement of airport staff but without making any concessions to clearance procedures. The solution was found by combining two types of physical access barriers from the Boon Edam range. Both products were already internationally recognised for their superior design and high degree of transparency. The exact characteristics needed to meet the primary requirements of a high-level security passage, which should be both comfortable and open. Biometrics and smart card technologyAdditional database-controlled electronics, biometrics technology (irisscan) and smart card technology completes the system at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, which is part of the loyalty program called 'Privium' offered and owned by Schiphol. Passengers arriving at the Automated Border Passage are asked to register by passing their personalised smart card through a card reader. Once the identification has been approved, the Boon Edam security barrier (PRISMA) is released allowing entry into the verification zone. Following the biometrical verification of identity (iris belongs to cardholder), the second Boon Edam security barrier (WINGLOCK) will open towards border passage. If identity is not verified, the WINGLOCK will open towards immigration.
